At the Therapy Place we are extremely passionate about teaching independence and overall self-acceptance to our children. The Therapy Place is an ideal teaching environment where the children are free to be themselves and learn in their own way from licensed and experienced therapists, teachers and other professionals. We serve the children with individual attention with an average ratio of 5:1 (children:adult) and individual therapy sessions as indicated. This is a strictly positive approach to learning which focuses on child-directed independence in order to create a sense of control and autonomy. There is also a large focus placed on creating an optimal sensory environment to enhance effectiveness of learning and decrease behavioral barriers. Each child's schedule is developed specifically to meet his/her needs and the needs of the family.

Group therapy group activities include the following:

    • reading/listening comprehension groups
    • handwriting groups
    • cooperative peer play groups
    • gross motor/fine motor group games
    • lifeskills group
    • vocational/pre-vocational activities

    Special area therapy groups include:

    • art
    • music
